Our intent is to show you that "Average Joes" like us can catch fish with the right gear bought at a discount and combined with practical practice in the field. Anyone can learn to fish - be it fly fishing, kayak fishing, or fishing in general.
Watch us through trial and error succeed as well as fail on our fishing trips, and then see how we apply lessons learned in the field so you can try them in your area!

Build Your Own Kayak Fishing Stringer With Tennis Balls In A Snap!

Do you know any good places for carp fishing with a fly rod in the Plano/Frisco area? Thanks
Other that scouting the creeks that run through the area, not seen too many carp hotspots. Do suggest fishing LLELA in tailrace to Lewisville. Have had good success sight casting to Buffalo and Carp.

@@bgeezus3955 If your uncertain, try one... if it works, get more. One tip when you start using them, set the spool tension higher than normal. It does not take much for the spool to spin when casting. Once your thumb gets used to them, then back out the tension. Good Luck!

The gulp is real!!! We use 1” and 2.5” gulp. I use both on trout magnet jigs. My catch rate is probably 30% higher. All species.

You should try the gulp 1.5 inch minnow and a 1/32 jig its my go to ultra light bait with 4lb mr crappie line

Genuinely don’t know why you’d ever use 2lb test
I use it for stocked trout fishing casting 1g trout magnets with BFS gear. Else, I use higher pound test.
2# test is doable in open water with a loose drag and playing the fish until it is tired. Toughest part is when taking the fish with it's full weight out of the water. Lesson, bring a net.
Yup, Murphy's Law of Fishing... bring a net, no big fish. Don't bring a net, hook a big fish but lose it anyways. Brutal. 😅
